XenForo -> Pretty new, easy to manage, much Plugins aviable and very cool Themes

IP Board -> Easy to use and manage (if you never had a forum this is the easyest choice), some nice Plugins and themes aviable

vBulletin 4.X.X (DO NOT USE vB5(!)) -> Sh*tload of plugins for nearly everything you want to do and change, Most people know vBulletin from other sites so they know how to use it but new people can have some problems, you will need some work to understand everything in the acp and configure it for your needs.

That as general overview, maby you can share what you want your forum to do :)

For personal modifications i allways recomment vBulletin because you can change nearly everything. You have to work into the vBulletin template system but once you know how to do thinks it's very good. vBulletin wont have problems with a big database - but you should keep in mind that you never the less will need a powerful server for such a big comunity.
I've tested vBadvanced CMPS with vBulletin 4.2.2pl4 a couple of days ago with no problems, with this portal you can do much (but it needs some time to get everything to know)

What vBulletin and vBadvanced version did you try? Also with Server do you use? Win or linux?
Q. I'm not sure how to find the path to my forums.
A. Look in the "Extras" folder that came with your download for a file called 'forumpath.php'.

Upload that file to your server into your 'forums' folder where you have vBulletin installed, go to it in your browser, and it should print out the correct path to your forums.

Copy that path, paste it over what you currently have for your path in cmps_index.php file, and re-upload that file.
There is a help file for that ;)
The path depends on where you have uploaded the files, so i can't tell you if this is right or not.
Also you can download the newest version 4.3.0 (newer then the one on vBwarez) on vBadvanced.com - you just have to register (for the filed "Forum-Url" while registering just fill in any url, for example google.com), the plugin itself is free :)
Do you use vB4.2.2 or vB4.2.2pl4 ? if you haven't installed Patch Level 4 you should do that, because there are some security issues fixed ;)

You can download every vBulletin Version as own copy with the Sigma Keygen from vBWarez - but it is only aviable for premium Members - Anyway i would recomment you to get a premium membership as you get unlimited downloads and Plugins on vBwarez: https://vbwarez.net/buy/ 20Jears for 22€ isn't that much and you also get the latest updates :)

Download the latest version of CMPS there are files with explain everything :)

if you plan on modding your website, you may want to go with vbulletin, it's pretty easy to understand their framework.

imo ipb is more flexible & got better performances, but I don't really like how they tend to "lock" everything, in their hands. (fuuuuu nexus yay)

can't talk about xenforo, never rly used it, haven't looked much into their framework neither, cuz didn't even need to null anything, so wtf ?????????? :g_sad:

Just answer the question, do you plan to use free hosting?

If yes i quote the rules:
I will not give support to "Free WEB HOST" users!
vBulletin (and every other software) is not designed to run on free hosting. You simply can't run the software there because of the limitations from free hosting. That makes it pointless to give support for that.
If your comunity is this big it shoulnd't be a problem to get enought money by advertising :)

good to hear :)

You have to install vB4 first and then you can add vBadvanced CMPS - i recommend you to create an account on vBadavnced.com and get your own fresh copy of the CMPS script (dont worry it's free - you can remove the copyright with simple template modifications). In the CMPS .zip file from vBadvanced you will find an FAQ with a detailed installation tutorial and some more usefull things - shouldn't be a problem with that for you :)
